Alison Brunn is a graduate of Iowa State University (M.Arch) and CUNY Hunter College (B.A., Economics and German). Prior to pursuing architecture, she worked in the North American office of Warp Records. As a graduate student, Alison worked as a Graduate Assistant and has presented her research at conferences in Stockholm, Sweden and Tallinn, Estonia. Her work on surveillance and domestic space has appeared in The Funambulist magazine, and she continues to explore architecture and urbanism through writing. She has spent time studying in Berlin, Germany and Zürich, Switzerland. Before joining substance in 2017, Alison was a student intern at BNIM Architects in Des Moines, Iowa.
