Blake Fisher is a graduate of Iowa State University (B.Arch 2009) and Goldsmiths University of London (MA Research Architecture 2012). While at Iowa State, Blake participated in the Construction Specifications Institute award and received the faculty nominated, Architectural Communication award. Before joining substance in 2013, Blake worked as a research assistant on the European Research Council funded project Forensic Architecture (FA) in the Department of Visual Culture at Goldsmiths University of London. During that time he investigated how spatial data (maps, drawings, models, video, and audio) were presented and transformed after being entered as evidence into the International Criminal Tribunal of the Former Yugoslavia. He also collaborated on a project with FA and the UN Special Rapporteur on Counterterrorism and Human Rights to develop an online platform visualizing drone strikes over Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, and Palestine.
